Ok. It's been an on and off getting to know me type of thing with him. As you know it's been a little over year since I got him. Well today he stood in front of the door and gave me the look 'well are you going to open the stupid thing?' Well I decided to do it just to see what he would do. It's official. He'll walk right out if I give him the chance. Damn! Another escapee! Wish they all would be like Allie. I could leave the door wide open and she would NEVER step over the threshold. One out of five who knows the only safe place to be is inside. You'd think at least Ki-Ki would have learned after getting beaten up last year...but no! She's the sneakiest of them all about getting outside. Summer is going to be such fun. Lucky me.

So far two of my older ones (Ink Jet and Cotton) have taken to all but living outside. Kami and Callie come and go with Kami still freaking Callie out to the extent that she hides. And both Callie and Inky have had run-ins with one of Kami's former suitors: a fluffy gray tom cat. They have both done well at defending the territory.
But who wins the grand prize for sneaky escapes today? Mouse, of course. Every time we opened the door to let out the dog, out she went, too. My strategy was to pick her up immediately and hang onto her until the dog was ready to go in. Made it a little difficult when I was trying to leave the dog out and I had to go chasing after the kitten. Never mind that the last time she escaped, she ducked into an open cinderblock, and made it hard for me to grab her.
Sigh. Kitties. What would we do without them?
